We strongly recommend calling (610-948-7127) or emailing (info@sfahs.com) before your visit, just to make sure our volunteers are on site.  Volunteer hosts sometimes must cancel at the last minute.

DISPLAYS REVAMPED!

There is so much to see!

  • Revamped and updated display areas in both the Farmhouse and Gallery

  • New Photography exhibit in the Gallery

  • Regular hours have resumed:  Sundays, 1:00-3:00PM; Wednesdays, 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM (Or by special appointment)

  • Only the Research Library is open to visitors on Wednesdays.  There are currently no public tours.  Soon!

HISTORICAL SOCIETY NEWS

LOCAL HISTORY PROGRAMS

The historical society has announced the 2026 dates for its annual local history programs which will focus on topics related to the country's 250th anniversary:

  • April 8 - General Washington's Travel Camp Chest by Scott Houting of Peter Wentz Farmstead

  • June 10 - Lighting in Early American Society by Peggy & Greg Gessaman

  • September 9 - Sewing the Symbol, History of Flag Manufacturing in SE Penna. by Candace Perry

  • November 11 - Revolutionary War Medicine by Dr. Frederick Magner

All programs start at 7:00 PM and are held at the Royersford VFW, 730 S. Fourth Ave.​

SPECIAL EVENT

VINCENT CANAL HISTORICAL MARKER

SFAHS has received a grant from the Pomeroy Foundation and has created a marker to commemorate the Vincent Canal which came through Spring City and was responsible for its founding and growth.  Stay tuned for information on the marker's dedication.
